Addition of Megan Hansen as Athletic Therapist and Strength / Conditioning Instructor

Canmore, AB – July 10th 2018

With the Main Training Camp for the 2018/19 season only a couple of months away, the Canmore Eagles are making progress off the ice with the addition of Megan Hansen as the team’s full-time Athletic Therapist and Strength / Conditioning Instructor.

Hansen, from Ladysmith BC, joins the Eagles organization following graduating from Camosun College in Victoria BC in 2016. After, graduating with her Bachelors Degree in Athletic and Exercise Therapy, she then became a Certified Athletic Therapist and moved to Calgary, Alberta. Megan has experience working for BC Hockey’s High Performance Camps, University of Victoria Men’s Basketball, as well as directly with high-performance athletes in hockey, lacrosse, and rugby.

Megan has also started her own Athletic Therapy business treating a wide spectrum of injuries and clients. Everywhere from high-performance athletes to office business professionals. Once the season gets underway she will be available to treat the Community of Canmore!

“I’d like to thank Dino Senn for his time and passion with our players in his role as our trainer,” said Head Coach and General Manager Andrew Milne. “Due to the time commitment that is now necessary for high-performance athletes, we felt that adding a full-time athletic therapist and a person well educated in strength, conditioning, nutrition, and injury prevention was important for our hockey club.”

“We are pleased to have Megan join our medical and training staff. Having a full-time Athletic Therapist is vital to any junior hockey organization. She will have an important role in making sure our players are quicker, stronger, and healthier,” added Coach/GM Milne.

Megan will begin working with our athletes in August, in time for our Main Training Camp that opens on Tuesday, August 28th.
