CANMORE, AB – The Canmore Eagles continue to reload for the upcoming season. As part of the January 10th trade deadline deal that sent 20yr old forward Coy Prevost to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in exchange for Connor Lyons, the Eagles have also acquired 6’0’’ 180 lbs 99 born right winger Owen Reith as the future considerations in the deal.
“When agreeing to the trade in January our goal was to continue to build a strong team for years to come,” said Head Coach and General Manager Andrew Milne. “With the addition of Lyons and now of Reith we have accomplished just that. Owen is a player that is tenacious on the pursuit of pucks, plays with pace, and has the skill to produce offensively.”
Reith from Whistler, British Columbia spent his rookie season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Oil Barons. In 49 games Reith accumulated 19 points including scoring 6 goals.
“Our staff is eager to start working with Owen, he is a versatile player who can play anywhere in the lineup and contribute,” said coach Milne.
Reith will dawn the Eagles jersey for the first time when Training Camp opens on August 28th in Canmore.
