Saturday’s game will be a historic night in Canmore as the Eagles celebrate their first AJHL championship after defeating the Whitecourt Wolverines four games to one in last season’s Inter Pipeline Cup Final.
Before the puck drops, the Eagles will raise the first championship banner in the franchise’s 31-year history to the rafters of Alex Kaleta Arena, giving fans the opportunity to celebrate last season’s historic run one more time before a new season gets underway.
The celebration starts before fans even enter the arena. Head down to the Canmore Recreation Centre beginning at 5:30 p.m. for a pre-game tailgate sponsored by The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company before heading inside for the banner-raising ceremony and home opener.
With a championship banner going up and a new season beginning, Saturday night is one Eagles fans won’t want to miss.
Tickets are still available at canmoreeagles.ca/tickets.
Come celebrate a championship, welcome the Eagles back to home ice, and help us pack Alex Kaleta Arena for the first time this season!
