The Lloydminister Bobcats defeated the Canmore Eagles 2-0 in their opening game of this year's Alberta Junior Hockey League Showcase weekend in a game played at the Spruce Grove Tri-Leisure Centre on Friday afternoon.
With close to 200 NCAA Colloge scouts in attendance, the listless Eagles were outshot 33-20 on the day and saw their early season record drop to 3-3.
Eagle goaltender Ryan Ferguson was named as the Eagle's “Star of the Game”.
The Eagles have now dropped seven straight games at the Showcase event and have not won here since they defeated the Drayton Valley Thunder 4-3 back on Oct. 1, 2010.
Canmore will have an opportunity to end their “Showcase” winless streak on Saturday afternoon when they will face the Bonnyville Pontiacs (4-2-1). Game time is 1 pm.
