EAGLES IN THE COMMUNITY

The Canmore Eagles are always happy to help out in the Canmore community.

During the past couple of weeks, Eagle players have helped out at both Lawrence Grassi Middle School and Elizabeth Rummel Elementary School.

In this photo, Eagle players (left to right) Simon Philp, Luke Simpson, Paul Lamouriex and Nils Moser (knelling) lend a hand  at Elizabeth Rummel.

A note from Elizabeth Rummel teacher Joan Rose to Eagle's Head Coach Andrew Milne:

“Thanks for sending the hockey players to our classroom.  They did a great job of motivating students by reading with them and sharing a little about the commitment required to excel at hockey.  As a class, we often talk about the importance of persistence in order to achieve success and it was great to hear from the players what it means to them.

The kids were really excited to have them come in and are looking forward to having them in again. Thanks.”

A Letter from Tony Teare – St. Michael's Anglican Church Fall Supper Co-ordinator

October 11, 2012

Dear Andrew Milne:

On behalf of St. Michael's and our community of Canmore we thank you and the young hockey players who graciously volunteered to help us in making the St. Michael's Fall Supper such a success. It is always a success when the people of the community work together for our common good and the benefit of those less fortunate. We are blessed to meet your young people and be treated to their lively spirit, you can be proud to have them on your hockey team. We can all learn a lot from them.

The dinner fed over 250 people. We raised a total of $2,500 which will go to other community charities that St. Michael's supports, including the Bow Valley Food Bank.

Thank you for your support!
