Eagles taken down by Bandits

Back in Brooks following the AJHL Showcase weekend, the Canmore Eagles fell 4-1 to the hometown Bandits on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
Canmore goaltender Andreai Proctor-Ramirez kept his team in the game until the third period, making 50 saves over the 60 minutes.
Brooks outshot Canmore 54-12 in the contest, with Ethan Barwick in goal for the Bandits.
The two teams traded goals in the 11th minute of this Alberta Junior Hockey League South Division clash. T.J.   Hughes scored for the home team at 11:15 with the Eagles pulling even 30 seconds later on a goal by Lane Paddison.
Brooks would take the lead at 15:57 on Boston Buckberger”™s first goal of the game.
The teams played a scoreless second period.
In the third, Devin Phillips would put Brooks two goals in front six minutes into the period with Buckberger”™s second goal of the game with just over four minutes to play ensuring the Bandits improved to division-leading six wins and one loss on the season.
Canmore is on a five-game losing streak after winning its opening two games of the season.
Neither team scored on the power play, although there were few chances with Canmore going 0-for-2 and Brooks 0-for-3.
Canmore”™s next home game is Saturday, Oct. 9 against the Blackfalds Bulldogs, and is a change in the original schedule as it had been set for Blackfalds. Game time is 7 p.m.   at the Recreation Centre.
