Eagles wrap up exhibition slate

The Canmore Eagles”™ recent pre-seasons have been usually short and intense and despite the current challenging conditions of even playing a sport it was much the same this year.
The Eagles played their third game in five days on Friday to complete their Alberta Junior Hockey League exhibition slate of games, losing 7-3 to the hometown Old Grizzlys.
Canmore”™s goals all came in the second period from the sticks of Drae Gardiner, Lane Paddison and Maguire Smyth. Isaac Suppin had two assists.
Olds, with a roster that featured 18 rookies, held period leads of 2-0 and 4-3 before wrapping up the game with three more goals in the final frame. Kieran Raymond scored twice, with singles from Lowie Vreys, Tristan Baumung, Tyler Green, Aidan Coupe and Stephen Rosier.
Olds outshot Canmore 37-35 with Devon Chapman in goal for the Eagles and Cody James between the pipes for the Grizzlys.
Canmore finished the pre-season with one win and two losses.
The Eagles opened their training camp on Sept. 1 and following a few full days of on-ice sessions split a doubleheader with the Whitecourt Wolverines, losing 4-3 on Monday, Sept. 6 and winning 4-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
