Ethan Schaeffer (Lake Country, BC) has signed a Letter of Intent to play for the Canmore Eagles starting the 2019-20 season.
Schaeffer (?01) is a talented forward that played with the Revelstoke Grizzlies of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League this past season. Schaeffer led the Grizzlies in goals scored during the regular season with 28 goals in 41 games. He also led his team in playoff goals, scoring 12 times in 19 games played. The Grizzlies went on to capture the KIJHL Championship as well as the Cyclone Taylor Cup. Regular season and playoffs combined, Schaeffer notched 40 goals and 67 points in just 60 games played.
?After speaking with Ethan?s coach in Revelstoke, it was clear that I had to make a trip to watch him compete,” said Head Coach / General Manager Andrew Milne. “Seeing Ethan play live confirmed the reports on him as a player and after meeting him it was obvious that Ethan would be a great fit for our organization. He is a player that certainly has the capability to score goals in the AJHL. Not only is he a gifted offensive player, but we also admire his winning pedigree as he led his team to a league championship and a Cyclone Taylor Cup. He has developed in a successful program and we believe he will carry his scoring ability and championship experience to our club.?
Schaeffer will arrive in Canmore in August when Eagles Training Camp opens.
