The Canmore Eagles will begin their 2015 exhibition season on Tuesday, Sept. 1 on two different fronts as the Alberta Junior Hockey League team will play a split-squad, home and home series against the Olds Grizzlys.
With 40 players still in camp, Head Coach and General Manager Andrew Milne will divide his roster in two with half of the players heading to Olds, while the other half will remain in Canmore. The Grizzlys will do likewise with their roster.
Tuesday night’s exhibition action will be the first pre-season games for both clubs.
“The split-squad format works very well in the early pre-season as it gives the coaches of both teams the opportunity to see as many players as possible in game action,” said Milne, who indicated that both Eagle teams will feature a variety of rookies and veterans.
NOTEBOOK: Ticket prices for the exhibition games will be $10 for everyone 12 and over, and just $5 for ages 6-11 . . . The Eagles Nest Lounge will be open for both exhibition games . . . .  Eagle prospect Adam Tisdale has returned from the Western Hockey League Portland Winterhawk’s camp and will suit up for the Eagles in tonight’s game against Olds.
