The Canmore Eagles are happy to announce St. Albert, Alberta native Aidan West has committed to the team for the 2018-19 season.
West, is a 6’3” 205lbs 01-born defenseman, has spent the past two seasons playing in the Alberta Major Midget Hockey League for the St. Albert Raiders. Last year, West scored 2 goals and added 2 assists to combine with his 79 penalty minutes.
He also dressed as an Eagles affiliate player for two games during the 2017/18 season.
“Our scouting staff has watched Aidan closely during his two seasons of midget AAA,” said Eagles Assistant Coach Evan McFeeters. “He made the early jump from bantam AAA directly to midget AAA as a 15-year-old player which has sped up his development. Aidan’s ability to defend the front of the net, and to disrupt plays in the neutral zone will be a welcome addition to our D-core.”
West will compete with the rest of his teammates when Training Camp opens in August.
