Sawchuk Resigns and Eagles appoint Glawson

CANMORE, AB (April, 4th 2019)

The Canmore Eagles announced the organization has appointed Mike Glawson as the team’s new Head Scout. Glawson will replace Barry Sawchuk, who has resigned for personal reasons.

Glawson brings a background in both scouting and coaching. He has coaching experience at the AAA and junior levels, as well as provincially at the Prospect Cup and Alberta Winter Games. Mike began as an area scout with the Eagles since 2017.

“Mike is a devoted worker and certainly has a passion for identifying players,” said Eagles Head Coach/General Manager Andrew Milne. “Since joining our scouting staff, he has shown professionalism, dedication and an ability to identify and recruit talented players. Barry Sawchuk has done a tremendous job building our team and strengthening our prospect pool. We are very thankful to Barry for his commitment to our team over the years, and his help in transitioning Mike into the role of our Head Scout.”

The Canmore Eagles Spring Camp begins on Friday, April 12th at the Canmore Rec Centre. All scrimmages are open to the public to join the Eagles Coaching and Scouting Staff in welcoming the prospects to the community.
