OLDS GRIZZLYS AT CANMORE EAGLES – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30 – 7 PM
1) The Eagles are playing fast, hard-hitting, and winning hockey at home compiling a regular season record of 5-1-1 while playing at the Canmore Recreation Centre.
2) The Eagles currently have three players in the Top 20 of the AJHL scoring parade including Matt Forchuk (4th-place with 24 points), Lane Olson (6th-place with 23 points) and Logan Ferguson (20th-place) with 18 points.
3) It's the eve of Halloween night so we’ll be giving away candy to all the kids and a Lake Louise Ski Card will be given to the fan with the best Halloween outfit.
4) Long-time national anthem singer Sydney Monteith will be back at the rink to once again perform “O Canada” for us on Friday night.
5) The “50-50” pot will have a guaranteed prize of at least $500 for one lucky fan.
6) Cold Molson draft will be back on tap in the Eagles Nest Lounge. Fans are now allowed to take their favourite beverages back to the stands to enjoy the game.
7) Three local Canmore boys will be in the Eagle lineup including Kyle Pauls, Adamu Tanaka and Jonas Gordon.
8) Eagle captain Jakob Lavoie is expected to return to the Eagle blueline after missing the last two games with an injury, while newly acquired defenceman Braiden Doucette (8 pts in 12 games) will also return after serving his two game suspension for a slashing incident.
9) Eagle goaltender Ryan Bontorin, who may or may not get the start, might have the opportunity to play against the Olds Grizzlys, the team that released him just prior to the start of the regular season. Bontorin currently spots a .911 save percentage and a 4-3-1 record.
10) This will be the last opportunity to catch an Eagle home game until Tuesday, November 10. It’s also “Volunteer Appreciation” night and we will be honouring Luc Turcotte – the 2014-15 Volunteer of the Year with a special pre-game ceremony!
