Former Canmore Eagle goaltender Sam Brittain (2009-10) is a candidate for this year’s prestigious Hobey Baker award, awarded annually to the best Hockey Player in the NCAA.

Sam is currently in his senior year at University of Denver and he's having a terrific season.
In 21 games played this season, Brittain has recorded three shutouts, a goals against average of 1.96, and a save percentage of .934. He has also been named “Goaltender of the Week” by the National Collegiate Hockey Conference on three occasions this season.
Brittain was a 4th-round pick (92nd overall) of the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League in the 2010 Entry draft. There is a very good chance he will sign a pro contract at the end of the season.
