Eagles trade Kurylo to the Mustangs in exchange for Katelnikoff

Canmore, AB (November 7, 2016) – The Canmore Eagles of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have traded 1998-born forward Nolan Kurylo to the Calgary Mustangs Junior A Hockey Club of the AJHL in exchange for Evan Katelnikoff.

Kurylo first signed with the team in 2015 and has since played in 56 games with the Eagles and recorded 12 points (2 goals, 10 assists). Kurylo contributed not only to the Eagles on ice product but also excelled in the community working morning skill academies for minor hockey and was a mentor for his billet siblings.

“Nolan’s speed, and tenacity, along with his great work ethic, has been an asset to our team,” said Eagles Head Coach and GM Andrew Milne. “Nolan was looking for an opportunity to play more and we felt that it was best to give him that chance to further his development. We wish Nolan success with the opportunity he has in front of him.”

The Canmore Eagles thank Kurylo for his contribution to the Canmore Eagles and the Bow Valley community. The Eagles wish him the best of luck with the Mustangs.

Evan Katelnikoff (Calgary AB) 1998-born forward adds depth to the Eagles roster with his big frame and skating skills. The 6’1 180lbs winger started the season with the Bonnyville Pontiacs and was moved to the Calgary Mustangs earlier in the year. This season he has produced 4 points in 10 games. Evan is expected to add secondary scoring as well as another physical presence to our line-up. The Canmore Eagles are excited to welcome Evan to their hockey club.
