BRODY MORTENSEN NAMED DEFENSEMAN OF THE YEAR IN THE ALBERTA JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE

Canmore Alberta, March 14, 2024 — Brody Mortensen, has been awarded the prestigious title of Defenseman of the Year in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). This accolade recognizes Mortensen’s outstanding performance, leadership, and dedication throughout the 2023-2024 season.

Mortensen, 19, hails from Humbolt, Saskatchewan, and has been a formidable presence on the ice since joining the Canmore Eagles roster. Throughout the season, Mortensen consistently demonstrated his ability to shut down opposing offences, showcasing his defensive prowess.

“We are incredibly proud to see Brody Mortensen receive this well-deserved recognition,” said head coach Andrew Milne The Eagles were fortunate to have two defencemen worthy of this award this season in Brody Martensen and Brody Tallman.  They played high-end minutes against the league’s top players each night and both represented the Eagles to the highest standard.”
