The 2019 Junior Club World Cup in Sochi, Russia is just around the corner. A tournament in which 22 players from the Alberta Junior Hockey League will be participating, including Eagles players Alex Young and Max Giangualano. The Canmore Eagles organization will not only be represented by players of the team, but it will also be represented by two team staff members. Eagles Athletic Trainer Megan Hansen, as well as Canmore Eagles Director of Business Operations Jacqueline Hurlbert who will also be a part of the Alberta Junior Hockey League team staff.
Hurlbert who is entering her 4th season with the Eagles will be handling Team AJHL’s Media and Communications throughout the duration of the tournament.
?I am extremely thrilled and honoured to be part of the Alberta Junior Hockey League staff for the Junior Club World Cup,? said Hurlbert. “I have always wanted to experience Russia and its culture. Being able to represent the AJHL and the Canmore Eagles Hockey Club on a world stage makes this opportunity very special.”
Players and team staff will be heading to Camrose on Monday, August 12 for a brief Training Camp. The team will then depart for Moscow, Russia on Friday, August 16.
The team will be in Moscow from August 16-22 for an exhibition game and team preparation, before travelling to Sochi to compete in the eight-team International tournament from August 23-31.
?I am looking forward most to the competition,” said Hurlbert. “Having high calibre players and staffs from different countries competing against each other will be a very impressive experience. I can?t wait to begin to capture the journey from start to finish, and to share all memorable moments along the way with the families, and fans home in Canada.”
