The Canmore Eagles are pleased to announce Ethan O?Halloran (Calgary, AB) has committed to the Eagles Hockey Club.
O?Halloran (?03) is a defenceman who last played for the Calgary Midget AAA Flames of the Alberta Midget Hockey League during the 2018/19 season. After making the early jump from Bantam AAA to Midget AAA, O?Halloran quickly established himself as an elite defender who has the ability to also contribute offensively. In 34 regular season games, O?Halloran tallied 18 points and developed into a top pair defensemen for the Flames during their successful run late in the season and into the playoffs. In addition to playing midget AAA at only 15 years old, O?Halloran suited up with the Eagles for three AJHL games as an affiliate player.
?Ethan really had an impressive season, jumping into one of the best midget AAA leagues in the country at 15 years old is a great accomplishment on its own,” said Eagles Assistant Coach / Assistant GM Evan McFeeters. “Ethan then established himself right away as a top pairing defender at the AAA level and when called up to play junior A he performed incredibly well for us. He is already ahead on the development path and his ceiling as a player is very high. Having all the tools to be a well-rounded 200? foot defenceman, his maturity and work ethic is what gives him the opportunity to be a Junior A defenceman at a young age.?
O?Halloran will be back in Canmore for the start of Eagles Training Camp in the fall.
